Reading The Unread

I am going to read you; carefully flipping over the pages of your thoughts, ruminating over each little lore your eyes reflect. I am going to read you; warmly stepping into the depths of your loneliness, grazing the tales of remorse your lips tremble with. I am going to read you; gently knocking down the walls you have put up, till the dreams you whisper every night echoes within me.

V-day poem? Maybe!

So today is V-day; I'm not one of those who believe in it, and that you can conclude if you have read this post , and this post of mine. Nevertheless, I don't prefer spoiling mood of love-birds. Hence, a Happy Valentine's Day to all you folks. Also, after a long spell of lack of creativity, I finally wrote this poem titled:  "Dream turned Reality" On a cheery spring day, he saw her across the stream, laying nearby the bay, she was deep into a dream. Her visage embraced a frown, and that made the beauty look sad, hence, to see that frown up-side down, was the only wish he had. All of sudden an apple fell on her head, and with it she was awaken. Hurriedly she wrapped up her camp-bed, although she looked shaken. When she commenced to leave, he ran across to get near her, she noticed him and stared in a dis-believe, as everything to her seemed a blur. He heard a shout; "Wake up"! with it he was back in his r...

An Untold Story

(This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 32 ; the thirty-second edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. To be part of the next edition, visit and start following Blog-a-Ton . The theme for the month is 'An Untold Story') **** The Untold Story   Hey listen up miss I have a thing to say, that one day this beauty of your's will fade away, and then with it will vanish your arrogance, at that point nothing shall remain, but good deeds that would be an epitome of your beauty. Hey listen up miss I have a thing to say, that one day along with your beauty will subside your youth, and then in vain will go your attempts at revival, you won't have the zeal, but good memories to cherish from your carefree days. Hey listen up miss I have a thing to say, that one day you will reflect back on your life, and think that why did you held onto the grudges, they did no good to you, but ruined your days b...

The long lost Childhood

She looked to the left then to the right, when suddenly my gaze met her sight. She pointed towards something and giggled, and I felt as if my childhood had returned. The pure feeling of joy radiating from her face, took me back to the time where there was no race. The time when kids were kids and were free to explore, but now they don't even have time to listen to a lore. It pains me to see how childhood is wasted these days, as it has become a ritual for parents to restrict a child's ways. For once upon a time childhood was all about discovering, today its just a phase where the kids are forced to do rote learning. **** Any thoughts? Suggestion and criticism welcomed. (This is my entry for the #SoakNoMore contest organized by Indiblogger .)

Just another shade of life...

She sat there in silence, lost in her own thoughts as the world whizzed by. For whose problems she always stood up, but today, she wonders why. As the people, whom she thought were life, for which she kept sacrificing herself had finally shown their true shade. She recalled her mother's words "Good happens with people who do good to others", which she thinks just like other memories should fade. Reflecting her mistake makes her question, things went hay-wire only because she longed for "we"? The fairy-tales heard in childhood always had a happy ending, but was it only to make young girls jump with glee? She had tried her best she recalls, to keep her relationships tightly knit. Its just life, she diplomatically tries to reason, that makes people drift away and finally quit. **** Any thoughts? Criticism welcomed. :)

The power "you" got

Bid a good-bye to the seen, get ready to embrace a change in the scene. Though the transition ain't easy, you needn't feel dizzy. Change is the need of the hour, this is from where you must derive your power. Just stand up for truth and learn to fight for your rights, and I promise that it will make your days bright. So, I wrote this poem ages ago. I typed it in my phone one day during train commute after being awe-inspired by Satyameva Jayate's that Sunday's episode. Okay, no more stories behind this piece of work. But, do tell me how did I fare.

Book review- Ah! Poetry

Image
Okay, to be straight-forward I discovered how simply a poem expresses intense feelings in a condensed form! Being clueless about the modern Indian poetry scene, I picked up Ah! Poetry, hoping to get a good exposure to a new found interest i.e. poetry. Ah! Poetry is a book composed of pearls by different poets belonging to different races of life, but united by the passion of doing poetry.  Rarely do you come across a book of poetry by amateur poets!  Comprising over 170 poems, each page brings to you a different saga, re-invoking lost emotions, as if taking you back to that phase of your life and stirring within you a new zest. Most of the poems are loosely based upon and around the concept of love, which in my opinion is severely 'Bollywood-ish" and this is what I think of as a drawback. But again, there are poems on heart-touching and humanity conjuring topics too, for instance the one on 26/11 terrorist's attack on Mumbai named "Yesterday, you shot my Myna...

Let it rain...

Eventually it rained, it felt like I spent forever in its anticipation. You know, how much I abhor summers and now after the rainy season has finally knocked on Mumbai's door, I'm in a state of pure bliss. The gloomy sky, the exquisite fragrance of wet earth and drops of water from above, never fails to lift my levels of joy. And of late, my poetic side too has surfaced! Yeah, I do enjoy reading poetry but doing it is a different ball-game altogether. I ended up writing one more: Let it rain, so that the drops from heaven leaves my soul drenched. Let it rain, so that the undying thirst gets quenched. Let it rain, so that the parched land revives. Let it rain, so that the nature thrives. I dedicate this one to this season's first rain and the environment day. Um, I know I'm asking for it again but can you please point out the shortcomings? Thank You.

Its been too long...

I generally don't write poems, but today after reading one on a friend's blog I felt terribly inspired. Hence, I wrote this one: Its been too long, That I forgot your face, The one which was with me in every race. Its been too long, That I forgot the weather, The one in which we sang together. Its been too long, That I forgot your ways, The one which used to brighten up my days. Its been too long, That people say I should forget you, The one who filled my life with myriad hues. Well, as this is my first (or second, if you count the poem I scribbled on a blank page during my English lecture in sheer boredom). It would be awesome if you, after reading these verses, get into a critic-mode and point out all the flaws. Thank You.
