Street Photography - I

Image
I had been itching to go on a photowalk and do some street photography as soon as summer hit Mumbai. But honestly, my love-hate relationship with street photography paired with the soaring temperature (harsh enough to give a friend of mine a sunstroke!) kept me pushing the plan to another day. Finally I managed it last Monday.  As I said, I have a love-hate relationship with street-photography, mostly because I think people will dismiss me as a freak or a media student and I don't want to offend anyone by clicking their pictures discreetly. On my Monday's photowalk, I did coax myself into taking some pictures with human element in it but frankly, it was hard! Primarily because women wouldn't stop staring at my camera (might be concerned).    About the final edits part; I actually didn't find any picture good except these two, basically because they lacked that drawing in factor. Also, this is the first time I've used photoshop to edit the pictures. So yeah...

Redbull Tour bus: The Flagship Gig

Image
October is turning out to be the most hectic month of this year, a spot which only June had reign upon until October kicked in with all it's might. It's just seven days into this month and I'm already overwhelmed by the workload. To be blamed, partly, is the internship. Although it's awesome and everything, as the main event NH7 Weekender is around the corner (18, 19 and 20th of October) it's getting all insane as we are pushing our limits. Plus, my exams have began! And as mentioned previously, I'm not enjoying the management course at all, hence basically I'm dragging myself to study for the sake of the huge amount of money which I have paid in the form of fees. Now back to talking about this month, well, there are a lot of events lined up...which you'd come to know as the month unrolls. Just last Saturday, I was in for the Red Bull tour bus gig that happened bang opposite Marine Drive! Yes, what more in the world would I want? Favourite bands on a...

Guidelines for a better 2013

Image
It has been quite a long time since I wrote anything sensible. Now-a-days my post usually describe "What-I-did". This time, unlike 2011, I didn't do a wrap up post for the year 2012 because of two reasons- First, I was sick last week and second, everything is already documented here by the way of blog-posts, so I felt no need to write an another post describing my 2012. But this doesn't mean I'm not grateful for the lovely year; 2012 happens to be among the best years of my life (well, you can certainly figure out by the stuff I did last year!). Today is the first day of new year 2013 and rather than reviving the glorious 2012, I want to remind myself of a few guidelines that helped me enjoy the past year completely: #1. Day-dream and make realistic plans   Unless you dream of something, you won't think of making that thing happen! But again, dreaming of unrealistic things will get you nowhere. To be frank, I day-dreamed of being a pat of a fl...

Eh, I finally skipped the orals

Image
Remember about the field trip about which I told you yesterday? Well, it is all below in the photography. The day started too early for me, despite of that getting to enjoy a lovely weather (after so long!) made up for that fact. The trip was in three parts- Nehru Science Center, RBI monetary museum and Prince of Wales museum. The main highlight of this trip was that it lead to completion of two to-dos from my list; Travelling via Bandra-Worli Sealink and driving/being driven on the whole stretch of Marine Drive (in this case, in a bus and not once but twice!). Frankly, half of the trip I was not feeling positive about skipping my tests but soon as the day passed by the negative feeling started fading away. Overall this trip was good. I took tonnes of pictures from a moving bus, out of which only few are share-worth (whatelse can you expect from a 2mp mobile camera?). Anyways, I have arranged the pictures in a chronological order, so that it lends a story-tel...

One year down and still on!

Image
So it was my birthday last Sunday (11/11/2012) and I'm updating about it today, after a week to be exact! I'm no longer employing my procrastination as a reason, just lack of some motivation. You know how these vacations are; you have time and that's why you tend to procrastinate, and the problem with working days is; you don't have time still you want to write! Now back to the birthday update thing, this birthday of mine wasn't exactly my best birthday ever but at the same time it didn't turn out to be the worst. No nothing bad happened, despite of that I didn't feel the 'happy-happy' Birthday spirit this time around. Everyone was joyous that day, tonnes of wishes for the day pouring in at every moment, yet I felt that the day wasn't an exception, just like a normal Sunday day to be precise. As this time around my birthday happened to be on a Sunday, I tried to turn the weekend into a 'Birthday weekend' by starting doing things that a...

So this is what I do when I bunk!

Image
Lately I have become lazy, too lazy to even bother about anything except eating and sleeping. Barely having any energy left within thyself these days, I wonder what is draining me out, studies? Hell no, I seldom touch my notebooks after college hours. And due to this constantly low levels of energy, I find myself cutting back a lot of things! Maybe my unending to-read list is to be blamed for it this time; first Such A Long Journey by Rohinton Mistry, then Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri and now The Krishna Key by Ashwin Sanghvi, a book received as a part of Blogadda book review program (for which I need to post a review in the time-frame of 7days!). So all I can say is- my kitty is full of reading jobs which needs to be accomplished ASAP. Well, I bunked on Tuesday after such a long, long, long time! I needed it and deserved it, afterall I didn't skip any of my classes this academic year from the start. But nothing would have been possible if my best budd...
