I have been experimenting lately, with street photography. And as I just shoot with a point and shoot camera (Canon SX150 IS) on Aperture priority or Shutter priority, and without any device to achieve a blurred background, I am trying to incorporate other moving things to give the background a slight blur. You must have seen that in the previous blog post's picture "Anticipation". Here is an extension of that concept with more objects in the frame. Feedback and criticism would be appreciated. Thanks. I had been itching to go on a photowalk and do some street photography as soon as summer hit Mumbai. But honestly, my love-hate relationship with street photography paired with the soaring temperature (harsh enough to give a friend of mine a sunstroke!) kept me pushing the plan to another day. Finally I managed it last Monday.  As I said, I have a love-hate relationship with street-photography, mostly because I think people will dismiss me as a freak or a media student and I don't want to offend anyone by clicking their pictures discreetly. On my Monday's photowalk, I did coax myself into taking some pictures with human element in it but frankly, it was hard! Primarily because women wouldn't stop staring at my camera (might be concerned).    About the final edits part; I actually didn't find any picture good except these two, basically because they lacked that drawing in factor. Also, this is the first time I've used photoshop to edit the pictures. So yeah...

It was a Thursday morning, the clock showed the time of 4'o clock (approximately), after barely getting a three hours long sleep, a reluctant yet excited me dragged myself out of the bed and got ready to face the adventure ahead. The streets were empty and I struggled to find a rickshaw to the station, after a lot of waiting I did get one and from there it was a smooth commute to the office. The problems started arising once we hit Pune; the driver of the bus we were in was detained for about an hour by the traffic police without any solid reason and then later on, after reaching a certain road the driver had no clue about the direction to the location! It was a real test of patience as the drive to Pune from Mumbai which generally takes four hours at maximum took a bit more than six hours! Finally we arrived at the venue at around 12.30pm and then the rest of the day saw us touring the venue and getting segregated into our departments. Honestly speaking, the venue was done up b...

So I came across a contest regarding one's "dream" road trip a few days back. Being an adventure junkie and a part-time rover, all of sudden it struck me that I haven't been on a road trip in my life yet. And with it I started wondering how cruel has this life been to me (Ha, I have just exaggerated this line). But it turns out I have road-tripped once, a proper road trip! I suddenly got reminded of it while taking in the scenery of the stretch between Goregaon and Jogeshwari, while travelling to college this morning. The tales goes back to a few years (four years, to be exact), to the summer before I started my ninth grade; plans were made on an impulse to visit my native place for a family function. Everything was done on the last moment, from booking train tickets to packing for the trip. This week has passed rather quickly! With the admission thingy and the whole running-back-and-forth (because of the admission process of course) I haven't been getting sufficient time for updating my blog. So, the day before yesterday I happened to be at a Blogger's meet organized by Indiblogger at the Times Of India building. The central theme of this meet was women's safety in this city; Mumbai. Although I have a lot to share with you guys in that regard, I guess you'll have to wait for a day or two because even thought my exams got over recently I still have an entrance to prepare for and that is keeping me busy these days! Anyways, as the meet was conducted in a heritage structure (TOI's main office) located at the Fort district of Mumbai, it was a photographic delight! Of course, I love wandering in that area but getting to capture the internal architecture of a vintage structure is an amazing experience altogether. It has been quite a long time since I wrote anything sensible. Now-a-days my post usually describe "What-I-did". This time, unlike 2011, I didn't do a wrap up post for the year 2012 because of two reasons- First, I was sick last week and second, everything is already documented here by the way of blog-posts, so I felt no need to write an another post describing my 2012. But this doesn't mean I'm not grateful for the lovely year; 2012 happens to be among the best years of my life (well, you can certainly figure out by the stuff I did last year!). Today is the first day of new year 2013 and rather than reviving the glorious 2012, I want to remind myself of a few guidelines that helped me enjoy the past year completely: #1. Remember about the field trip about which I told you yesterday? Well, it is all below in the photography. The day started too early for me, despite of that getting to enjoy a lovely weather (after so long!) made up for that fact. The trip was in three parts- Nehru Science Center, RBI monetary museum and Prince of Wales museum. The main highlight of this trip was that it lead to completion of two to-dos from my list; Travelling via Bandra-Worli Sealink and driving/being driven on the whole stretch of Marine Drive (in this case, in a bus and not once but twice!). Frankly, half of the trip I was not feeling positive about skipping my tests but soon as the day passed by the negative feeling started fading away. So it was my birthday last Sunday (11/11/2012) and I'm updating about it today, after a week to be exact! I'm no longer employing my procrastination as a reason, just lack of some motivation. You know how these vacations are; you have time and that's why you tend to procrastinate, and the problem with working days is; you don't have time still you want to write! Lately I have become lazy, too lazy to even bother about anything except eating and sleeping. Barely having any energy left within thyself these days, I wonder what is draining me out, studies? Hell no, I seldom touch my notebooks after college hours. And due to this constantly low levels of energy, I find myself cutting back a lot of things! Maybe my unending to-read list is to be blamed for it this time; first Such A Long Journey by Rohinton Mistry, then Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri and now The Krishna Key by Ashwin Sanghvi, a book received as a part of Blogadda book review program (for which I need to post a review in the time-frame of 7days!).
