Facebook? Nah, I'm on a vacation from it
Well, I deactivated my Facebook account on Thursday for a simple reason; I need to unplug myself from the social networking frenzy for a few days. Yeah, don't you remember the golden times before these social networking sites arrived? We still connected with our friends and relationships were more concrete than what they are today! Being a total Facebook addict it seemed a tough challenge to resist myself from logging on Facebook in an another tab while I fend my other browsing habits. It's the fourth day and I'm on the verge of completing the challenge into which I forced myself.
Now straight to the point, after unplugging myself from the popular menace called "Facebook" I actually enjoyed myself and did some stuff which I had on my wish list since, too long. I had mentioned once that I eagerly want to complete the book "Unaccustomed Earth" which I bought for myself last November and hey, I completed a story in an hours. Technically, I'm again going off track and listing what I gained from this 'break' but basically all I wish to highlight is the much need "me" time which we all need. We all, like me, live a fast paced life which definitely involves get up in the morning, having a race against the clock to be on time for College or Work and after getting home in the evening, wasting the remainder on Facebook (Okay, this may not apply to married-working women) but hey, don't you think it's certainly unproductive wasting some 'free' time on Facebook?
Um, I'm not at all telling you all to deactivate your Facebook accounts (Why would I want bad happening to Mark Zuckerberg? and ya, Facebook is life saver once in a Blue moon) but all I'm suggesting you people (Basically, all Facebook addicts) is to just unplug once in a while and execute what is on your to-do list, maybe cooking or baking or a dinner with friends? And to all those who are forever engaged with Facebook on their Mobile phone; Get a life dude, just lift your head up and look around, The real world is certainly more beautiful, artistic and most importantly Real than the Virtual one. Don't believe me? Just give it a try....

ReplyDeleteFrankly speaking, in the beginning it was very hard for me! But somehow I kept reminding myself of the wonderful time I'm able to make for things I enjoy doing and it kept me on track. :)
