Yet the Stereotyping saga continues...

Well, you can blame my sudden invisibility on this newly acquired habit of slacking off stuff. You can possible estimate this from the way I'm slacking off studying for my test tomorrow. Anyways, I currently am reading a book; Such a Long Journey by Rohinton Mistry. And the worst thing? I have turned so lazy that all I do is sleep in my free time. Hence, a person who usually finishes a good 500pages novel in a week's time is still on the 71th page. I hope this habit turns out to be a temporary one and I get done with it as soon as my exams are over. Nevertheless, after I took a short quiz on the internet a question has been floating in my mind: Am I an introvert or an extrovert? According to the pointers, which were mentioned in a corner to help people make a correct choice, an introvert is a one who likes solitary activities and prefers to be alone most of the time whereas an extrovert is outgoing and adventurous. Frankly, I struggled to chose an option. Yeah, you know I am...

Life is all about learning, isn't it?

#1. Do not let an opportunity pass by When I was around 11years old,  I read a story in Tinkle; about a boy who always complaint that life is mean to him, that he didn't get any chance to prove his mettle and worth but actually, he never utilized the opportunity life always present before him. The point I'm trying to make here is, don't turn a blind-eye to a chance! Because some are once-in-a-lifetime kinda and you can't do anything except agonize after it has slipped away from your clutches. So take my advice folks, grab the opportunities that you come across. #2. It's okay to attempt something by yourself Sometimes what interests you might not tempt your friends or companions, you might be super-keen onto doing it but they might not even give a damn about it! Here, just because your friends aren't there to back you shouldn't mean that you need to give upon the thing you have your heart set on. I learnt this on Saturday; I desperately wanted to attend M...

When saying Goodbye is the only choice...

Image
Okay, the news of our I.T. teacher resigning came out unexpectedly as a huge shock! It felt as if we were stuck by a bolt of lightening; all of us were numb, not knowing how to react to the unforeseen outbreak of the news. At first we didn't believed our ears, but then all of us slowly digested the fact and started planning for 'The Goodbye'. We contributed, bought a cake, made cards and wrote goodbye notes in it. Eventually tonnes of class pictures were taken and tears were shed too. Yeah, goodbyes are never sweet. To many the entire concept of throwing a farewell party for a teacher may sound cliche, you'd argue that teachers change every academic year, but folks we I.T. batch people share a special bond with our teacher because along with being a teacher; she has been a guide, a motivator and a friend to us (yeah, she is a youth and not the regular old teacher you generally encounter in a college). And bidding a farewell to her didn't come easily to us. But as...

Lets root for a healthy marriage over love or arranged!

Image
"So you guys even started thinking about marrying?", I questioned to a well-acquainted classmate. She replied by saying nothing but smiled and blushed a bit. My curiosity lead me to ask her whether her parents know about her affair, and she said "Not parents but sisters know". I tried to be non-judgement at that point. Again in the train that day, while returning home, I came across myriad tales of "how-we-met" from a group of young women sitting adjacent. After getting home, I switched on the television and was again bombarded young couples in love. Today, love marriage which was a way forbidden some 20years ago is embraced with both the arms stretched wide. On this, some say that India too is surging ahead on the path laid down by our western-counterparts and favoring love marriages as opposed to our 'traditional' system of arrange marriages. But I beg to differ on this theory (Okay, I have a full-fledged 'marriage in India' timeline u...

East or West, being part of a 'Flash mob' is the best!

Image
So I didn't write anything since a really long time. No, it wasn't that I didn't had any blog-worthy stuff but the thing was I really didn't had much time on my hands left. No worries, today is friendship day and you can be assured that I won't abandon you (at least not today). Okay, first with major event #1 that happened last Saturday, on 28th July 2012; A flash mob at Giragum Chowpatty! You guys know how much I love Marine Drive and its adjoining beach Girgaum Chowpatty, so when the entire event's detail was declared I immediately signed in for it. And later on, I discovered that almost half of my class was in for it too. Hence, the entire event for us was some sort of picnic (Yeah, seriously!). In a 'Flash Mob' every participant is supposed to dance, an activity I'm not particularly good at. But, the prospect of having to dance didn't freak me out because a heck lot of must-do activities from my wish-list were on the verge of getting str...
