An Unexpected Day

Image
I know it has been too long since, I updated you people. The reason for my prolong absence was just being unmotivated. Cutting short my apologies I have some great news to share; I have landed up an Internship as a writing intern at The Youth Express magazine! Great news, isn't it? But unfortunately my blog might see less of me during the six weeks course of my Internship. Well leaving this to be decided by the future, I declare my day as it went: Awesome! I was a tourist in my own city again (Remember when I visited Bandra for the first time?) exploring Dadar. Also I got Cloud9 energy drink samples in college for free hence, I gobbled down 2! And yes, I'm not guilty about it :P Great view of the Bandra-Worli seallink from Dadar Chowpatty It just was a sheer coincidence; I bumped into a friend from school with whom I'm barely in contact with now at Bandra station. I just asked him why is he at Bandra station to which he replied he is going to Mahim Dargah with his co

V-day: A small message to the masses

It's the Valentine's Day today, just another reason for people to celebrate! Okay, I'm not criticizing it, not at all. But I'm criticizing the hype people have made out of it, can this day be left as a day meant for celebrating Love and companionship rather than going over-the-board just to show-off? Isn't the day meant for people to take pride in their 'in a relationship' status? Nobody wants to be left isolated on this day, watching other couples rejoice, but does that means forcing yourselves into a relationship? Yeah, the previous question I asked may sound bizarre but it's a truth. Many people today, just because they don't want to be left out on this day force themselves into a relationship; how kiddish and insane is that! Previously, I have written these two posts which confines itself within the boundaries of love and plays around with this very topic: Shakespeare and Love at first sight and The most exploited word "Love" . Interpretation of few words from "The Prophet" and some history

Image
Whilst in the college library today, I chanced upon the book "The Prophet" by  Khalil Gibran . We had an extract from this book in 10th grade hence, I pretty much pounced at the opportunity and flipped through the book. There is this question by a Lady being answered by the Prophet concerned with  Joy and Sorrow, to which  Prophet says (Note: It's my interpretation of the lines): Joy and sorrow both go hand in hand. Both of them are the two sides of a same coin, the thing that caused joy before is the reason for the sorrow now. If you just wander in search of joy you will never find it. Like a cup which holds wine has to be baked in the heat of an oven similarly, receiving joy without braving Sorrow turns down the purpose of joy. Well, I have been feeling terrible from past few days because of the reason mentioned in the last post. I applied the Prophet's say in my situation and all I can say is; It has replenished my energy and hope to tackle all my problems

Once upon a time...I saw a dream

I acknowledged the mistake I made, I even admitted it. I realized, thought the college I chose for myself was the one I eagerly wanted to be a student of, I regret the decision I made. It was just an another morning when I was discussing Train schedules with my dad and the at a particular point, when he pinpointed that choosing DG Ruparel College instead of St. Andrew's College would have been a better bet, I gave in and unconsciously I admitted the wrong choice I made. This drained out feeling which settled into me since my first day seemed something that was concerned with me being new to train travelling but now I'm acquaint with the fact that it has strings attached to me being unhappy in this college. No, I'm not at all saying St. Andrew's is bad, but the thing is thought it has everything a college should posses, I'm trapped in a class of students who are bitterly monotonous and do not like experimenting and exploring, a thing which should be done in colleg

Let the action begin: Agneepath

Image
Well, to begin with I activated my Facebook account back on Wednesday, as my challenge to thyself came to an end. I successfully managed to keep Facebook at bay and now I'm over the addiction of scrolling down my homepage again and again, out of boredom just to find some new news feed and playing useless Facebook games just to kill my time. Also, after running from pillar-to-post just to convince anyone willing to come with me to watch the movie Agneepath and getting dejected repetitively I, at last saw the movie last night, Yahoo! Frankly, I liked the movie. This movie is a remake of the original Agneepath starring Amitabh Bacchan belonging to 1970s or 80s (I guess?) and I have to admit, this one is the best remake I've ever watched! Okay, I'm quiet a movie-buff and have seen all terrible remakes too (anyone remember Karz's remake starring Himesh Reshamiya?) by the way, I have had a watch at Amitabh Bacchan's Agneepath too two years ago and on comparison with
