Let the action begin: Agneepath

Well, to begin with I activated my Facebook account back on Wednesday, as my challenge to thyself came to an end. I successfully managed to keep Facebook at bay and now I'm over the addiction of scrolling down my homepage again and again, out of boredom just to find some new news feed and playing useless Facebook games just to kill my time. Also, after running from pillar-to-post just to convince anyone willing to come with me to watch the movie Agneepath and getting dejected repetitively I, at last saw the movie last night, Yahoo!

Frankly, I liked the movie. This movie is a remake of the original Agneepath starring Amitabh Bacchan belonging to 1970s or 80s (I guess?) and I have to admit, this one is the best remake I've ever watched! Okay, I'm quiet a movie-buff and have seen all terrible remakes too (anyone remember Karz's remake starring Himesh Reshamiya?) by the way, I have had a watch at Amitabh Bacchan's Agneepath too two years ago and on comparison with the remake, story-wise you know what might creep in next but, the remake has an essence of it's own, it's own pace of telling the story which happens to be a bit parted from the original one. Some terms and name are same as in the original one (Yeah, it's a remake!): Mandwa Village, Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, Master, etc. The iconic dialogue "Agneepath Agneepath Agneepath" remains, and it is something I love in the original too. I guess, I did too much of a critic's job? Anyways, on the bottom-line; This film definitely deserves a watch as it happens to be one of the best remakes, the story has it's own soul and everything from the acting (especially Sanjay Dutt's), songs, etc. is fantastic. You can read a review of the Film by Times Of India here.

Personally, I prefer to watch Bollywood films over Hollywood once because only an Indian filmmaker knows what an Indian viewer needs in a movie; Heart-pumping action, die-hard romance and a thrilling climax! So, the way this movie appealed to me might not be like one everyone still, I insist you to have a look. Have a great Sunday...
